Rafting week in North-western Greece
A weekly program for rafting lovers, on the Venetikos and Aliakmonas rivers. You will see the natural beauty of these two rivers and also learn all you need to know about rafting. Beginners as well as more experienced rafters can follow this program.
Itinerary
DAY 1
Arrival at the airport of Thessaloniki, the second largest city in Greece (after the capital Athens),
which was founded in 316 B.C. by Cassander, the brother-in-law of Alexander the Great. You will be
transferred to the region of Grevena in north-western Greece and the traditional guesthouse we
have selected for you. A welcome dinner will follow in order to meet your guides and be informed
about the program's details.

DAY 2
Aliakmonas is the river where we will start our program. First, we will attend a short informational
course about how we should paddle, the way we must behave in the raft boat and the safety rules
we should follow. The activity that will follow for the next 1.5 hours is of second degree of difficulty
and will give you the opportunity to have a first taste of rafting as well as to practice everything we
have learned. At the end we will have a small picnic. The rest of the day is free to explore the
natural beauties of the region.

DAY 3
Today's rafting takes place near the village of Deskati. It is of second degree of difficulty up to the
entry of a beautiful gorge, in the beginning of which we will admire the monastery of "Osios
Nikanoras" perched at the edge of the canyon.

DAY 4
Today we will raft in one of the region's most beautiful rivers, "Venetikos". We'll depart from the
bridge of "Eleutherohori" following the river in a unique landscape. During the activity, herds of
Cormorants and other rare species of birds will accompany us. We will see black storks that live
in the region. After 1.5 hours of rafting, we end up in a well-maintained park outside the village of
"Agapi", where we can enjoy the unique view and have a small picnic.

DAY 5
Today's rafting starts from the stone bridge of Trikomo up to the park of Pigaditsa. During the
route we see four 16th-17th century stone bridges in a green landscape, together with the winged
residents of the river.

DAY 6
Today's activity is a demanding descent of fourth degree of difficulty. The descent ends in the gorge
of "Spileon", known for its wild and striking beauty.

Return to the airport of Thessaloniki for your flight back home full of wonderful memories.
